1. Who we are
This site is operated by Seren Bio Labs, [LEGAL ENTITY - sole trader or Ltd], trading from [TRADING ADDRESS], United Kingdom. [IF A LIMITED COMPANY: registered number and registered office]
You can reach us at support@serenbiolabs.com or through our contact page. These terms apply to every order placed through this website. By placing an order you accept them.
2. Who may buy from us
To place an order you must confirm that you:
- are aged 21 or over;
- are purchasing strictly for in vitro laboratory research; and
- will not administer any product to a human or an animal.
You give this confirmation twice — on entering the site, and again at checkout. We record the declaration against your order. Placing an order while knowing these statements to be untrue is a breach of these terms and we may cancel the order and refuse future sales.
3. Research use only
Everything we sell is a research chemical or laboratory reagent. Nothing we supply is a medicine, a food, a supplement or a cosmetic. Our products are not licensed for human or veterinary use and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
We do not provide dosing guidance, administration instructions or any advice on use in humans or animals, and we will not do so if asked.
You are responsible for handling, storing and disposing of the materials safely and lawfully, and for holding any licence, authorisation or institutional approval your work requires. Responsibility for how a product is used after delivery rests entirely with you.
4. Orders and acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation email after your payment has cleared — not when you place the order or when payment is initiated.
We may decline any order. Reasons include a product being unavailable, a pricing or description error, a failure to complete the research-use declaration, a delivery address we cannot ship to, or a reasonable belief that the order is not for legitimate research. If we decline an order after payment, we refund it in full.
We try to describe and picture products accurately, but images are illustrative. Batch appearance, vial and closure design may differ from the photographs.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and are shown on the product pages. [VAT STATUS - state whether prices include VAT, and give the VAT number if registered] Delivery charges are shown separately — see Shipping & Delivery.
Payment is taken by secure bank transfer through Fena, an FCA-regulated open banking provider. You approve the payment directly with your own bank. We never see or store your card or banking details.
Stock and prices are re-checked at the moment you pay. If a price on the site was wrong, we will tell you before taking payment and you may confirm at the correct price or cancel.
6. Delivery
Delivery costs, destinations and timescales are set out in our Shipping & Delivery policy, which forms part of these terms.
Risk passes to you on delivery. If you are ordering from outside the United Kingdom you are the importer of record and are responsible for ensuring the goods may lawfully be imported, and for any duties or taxes due.
7. Cancellation and returns
If you are buying as a consumer you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days. Certain sealed goods are excluded once unsealed. Full detail, including how to cancel and how refunds are paid, is in our Returns & Refunds policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- resupply or resell our products for human or veterinary use;
- present our products as medicines, supplements or fit for consumption;
- use the site unlawfully, or attempt to interfere with its security or availability; or
- place orders using false details or another person's payment credentials.
9. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Subject to that, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for loss arising from use of a product outside its stated research purpose, from failure to store or handle it correctly, or for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable.
10. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings there.
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it. This page was last updated on 27 September 2026.
